Dog-walking job available in Janurary!

Hey folks - this is a great oppertunity to earn some extra cash.

I moved to Paris in March 2005, and I started dog-walking in June for this guy Dan. Dan is an American, from Chicago, and lives in the 11th near metro "Nation," (but actually closer to Avron, if you're taking the 2). He has a beautiful siberian huskey named Lyra who needs to be walked 3-4 times a week, anytime between the hours of 12h-15h. The walks should be about half an hour, just around the neighborhood. Fill up her water bowl, and that's it!

It was a great job (and still is, I'll be doing it through December), but I'm going to be starting language school in January (fingers crossed) and won't be able to keep it up. He pays about 7 Euro a walk, or 85 Euros a month (if you're walking the dog 3 times a week). I know it's not much, but that extra cash really helped me out for a while... covered my carte oranage for the month, plus a few movies. It doesn't take up too much time during the day, and it was a nice excuse to go on long walks with a wonderful dog. I've also done some dog-sitting for Dan on weekends, and made a decent amount of money for doing that.

I told Dan that I would look around for people to recommend to him, and I thought I'd try this group first. The dog is small for a siberian huskey, but obviously, if you think larger dogs are scary, this isn't for you.

Comment if you have any questions!

Hey there kiddies! Any word on those american grocery stores? I need some pumpkin in a can, and possibly other american ingredients if they're available, but especially pumpkin in a can.

Thank you as always!

So, I'm bummed out about this Thursday. Not only is it Thanksgiving, but it is my birthday, and not only is it my birthday, but it is my TWENTY FIRST birthday...so I am doubly (or triply, depending on how you look at it) blue about being away from friends this week. I love Thanksgiving, but I also love nothing better than going out for drinks and dancing with friends. Does anyone have any idea of nice things to do that could combine either of these celebrations for me? Or nice places to go that double as a place to kick up your heels (i.e. not Favela Chic, as was there last weekend, and not clubs, because though I love them, not all my friends are hot about paying 20€ to be locked onto a dancefloor)...? I want to do something to mark these occasions but since I only have "superficial," mostly non-American friends for the moment, I have to make an extra effort. Please help me- I don't want my 21st birthday in Paris to go uncelebrated!

selling my soul

Hey MTP kids...I'm taking a poll. How much should I ask per hour to give private English lessons?

Sorry I never got around to that pint when I was in Paris last - the way things worked out, time was hard to come by. How about a MovetoParis Xmas get together - ice skating at Hôtel de Ville par example? Any takers?
