Photo Album

Most of these galleries record my voyages around Europe, starting when I first moved to France in March of 2005. I feel like I should note here that while most of the sections of my site are things I do professionally, photography is not one of them. You'll see when you look at these galleries, I just take regular vacation snapshots like anybody else. I've been very lucky to have had the opportunity to point my crappy camera at some pretty incredible things, though.

    Travel Galleries
These are the galleries from all my travels around Europe during my first stint living in Paris, 2005-2006.

    Dracula's Castle, October 8th, 2006
This is actually one part of the big European trip below, but I'm giving it its own entry here since it was such a highlight for me. I went to Romania for a second time to finally visit Castle Poenari in the Arefu Valley in Transylvania. I took lots of pictures and a couple short videos.

Switzerland, Austria, Romania, Slovakia - October 2006
This was my last big trip in Europe before returning to the States after living in France for two years.

    Scotland, September 2006
I took a pretty much unplanned trip to Scotland for a few days! Not too many pics this time.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Montenegro
I traveled around the Western Balkans for most of August of 2006, and enjoyed the cities, the mountains, the sea, the food...

    Budapest, November 2005
Part three of three. We swapped apartments for a week with a friend living in Budapest, and had a leisurely, wonderful week in this breathtaking old city.

    Romania, October 2005
Part two of three. Transylvania! Cemeteries! Castles! Mountains! Dracula! All just in time for Halloween! This place was so amazing I thought my brain was going to explode.

    Istanbul, October 2005
Part one of three. We visited our American friend Helene in Istanbul (not Constantinople) and I keep annoying myself and everyone else with TMBG references. I'm done now, I swear.

    Amsterdam, October 2005
Our good friend Kerry came all the way from America to be our tourguide in Amsterdam for a few days and show us the sights.

    Prague, September 2005
Part two of two. Tami and I hitchhiked to from Berlin to Prague to see castles and bridges and lots of freaking puppets.

    Berlin, September 2005
Part one of two. Tami and I took an overnight train from Paris to Berlin and spent a few days seeing the sights and meeting new folks. Like, for instance, the pair of grim reapers on the subway.

    Sevilla, July 2005
Tami and I visited Sevilla in Southern Spain and met up with our friend Frederick for adventures and lots and lots and lots and lots of sunshine. Seriously, a lot of sunshine.

Camping at Monnai with the Hospitality Club
Tami and I camped for five days on an organic farm in this tiny village in the beautiful Normandy countryside, with hundreds of travellers from all over the world.

Hiking at Saint Remy Les Chevreuses
Four Americans, a Canadian, and a Parisian walk into a bar... I mean a castle...

    Cannes Film Festival 2005
Tami insinuated herself into a job at the Cannes Film Festival! And I got to tag along for a few days and bum around! It was great! Look! That's us on the red carpet!

    Corfu, April 2005
Part two of two. I was really worried that there was no way my camera could capture how bright and blue and beautiful the water around Corfu was. I was worried for nothin'.

    Rome, April 2005
Part one of two. Tami and Jen and Ayelet and I went to Italy and Greece for a week and a half. We started our adventure in Rome...

Ten Pictures of Your Neighborhood Day!
My friend Kevin had the swell idea to start Ten Pictures of Your Neighborhood Day. My ten are posted in my LiveJournal, and then I posted a bunch more bonus pics here.

    Musee d'Orsay, etc.
Tami and I went to the Musee d'Orsay for the first time with our expat friend Kevin and wandered around outside the Louvre and stuff. The pictures are over in my LiveJournal.

    Our Apartment in Paris!
Lots of photos of our apartment! They're over in my LiveJournal.

    Miscellaneous older galleries

    Zombie Prom!
Check out our pictures from Halloween 2004! Don't miss Dee-Dee Ramone! And Cheetara! And Ghost Rider and Marvel Girl! And the scary naked people! And the AT-AT!

    Paris, Autumn 2004
Tami and I went back to Paris for five amazing days. A drunk kid with a saxophone case sitting across from us on the Metro told us in slurred English, "The life... is just the life." Man, true.

MS 150 City to Shore charity ride, 9/18/04
Ben, Kevin, Mickie, and Tami all did the big MS ride this year, and raised almost $3,000 for MS. I helped out by auctioning some artwork. Here are a bunch of pictures from the finish line! They're over in my LiveJournal.

    RNC Protest, 8/29/04
Tami and I went to one of the big protests outside the Republican National Convention in NYC. The link goes out to my LiveJournal, where I posted a bunch of pictures and some commentary.

    BenTV Beach House 2004!
Ben rented an amazing beach house in Wildwood and invited the whole gang down for a week of sun and fun... and sleep deprivation and Dance Dance Revolution and pro wrestling.

    Hiking/camping trips, 2004
These are a bunch of smaller galleries from my LiveJournal.

    London
A whole mess of us Americans went to London in June of 2003 to see what's up. I had a raspberry iced tea that came in a cardboard can.

    Halloween 2002
45 spookerific pics from the 100th Annual All Hallows' Eve Masquerade Ball. And you can see the animated online invitation in the Flash section.

    Ben's New Orleans Photos
These are actually Ben's photos, as I still haven't scanned mine from this trip. But since I'm hosting 'em on my server, and I'm in half the damn things, I figure it's okay for me to link 'em up here on my photos page. You got a problem with that, Ben? You wanna start some shit?

    Halloween 2001
Only took a handful of pictures this particular Halloween, maybe because we'd only been back in town from our cross-country trip for a couple days, and were tired of snapping photos constantly. Anyway, not a bad couple of costumes for being so last-minute.

    Tami and Manning's Cross-Country Adventure
What an incredible adventure! These 42 photos sum up about 1% of all the cool stuff we saw and did. I can't wait to do another huge drive like that.

    Paris
Man, Paris in the freaking springtime! This was Tami's and my first trip to Paris! We fell in love with thie city right away, but had no idea at the time we'd end up living there someday.

    Halloween 2000
Man, I'm still really happy with that makeup job. And I miss those contacts.

    Skydiving
